This hōhin was handcrafted by Atsuo Mori in his Bizen workshop. It stands out for its ornamentation, which gives the piece a unique presence. The peach-shaped lid knob, in particular, refers to Okayama, known for its peaches, which are one of its symbols.
The decorative elements on the sides are not just ornamental: they allow you to hold the teapot without directly touching its surface, thus avoiding heat when serving.
Wood-fired in a traditional Bizen kiln, its dark surface reveals the effects of fire and ash. Designed for the preparation of Japanese tea, this hōhin thus combines functionality, craftsmanship, and references to the Bizen region.
