This small guinomi was handcrafted in Bizen during my stay in the region, then fired for 7 days in Taiga Mori’s noborigama kiln.
Its clay, which is smoother, was worked by intentionally leaving slip on the surface. This material creates irregularities and variations that appear on the wall, giving the piece a lively appearance. After throwing, a light pressure from the hand gave it this deliberately organic shape.
The wood firing completes this work by creating variations in the shades and textures of the surface. Compact and pleasant to hold, this guinomi is as suitable for tea tasting as it is for sake.

Expertise
Atelier Tadaima
Tadaima is a project dedicated to Japanese handcrafted ceramics and everyday objects.
Born from several trips to Japan, the project stems from a curiosity for ceramics, and more specifically for the chawan, whose presence in daily Japanese life gradually led me towards tea, matcha, and the world surrounding them.
