This chawan was thrown on the wheel by Taiga Mori in his studio in Bizen. Its low, generous shape is punctuated by a deliberately irregular wall, where the traces of the artisan's hand remain visible.
The slightly flared upper part contrasts with a more compact body, giving the piece a particularly strong presence. Its surface reveals variations in the clay and the effects of wood firing.
Intended for the preparation and tasting of matcha, this chawan thus combines a very present artisanal touch with a use designed for tea.
