This small guinomi was thrown on a Bizen potter's wheel during my stay in the region, then fired for 7 days in Taiga Mori's noborigama kiln.
Its smoother clay was worked by deliberately leaving slip on the surface. This material creates irregularities and variations that appear on the wall and give the piece a lively appearance. After throwing, a light pressure of the hand gave it this deliberately organic shape.
The wood firing completes this work by varying the hues and textures of the surface. Compact and pleasant in the hand, this guinomi can accompany both a tea tasting and a sake.

Expertise
Atelier Tadaima
Tadaima is a project dedicated to Japanese handcrafted ceramics and everyday objects.
Born from several trips to Japan, the project stems from a curiosity for ceramics, and more specifically for the chawan, whose presence in daily Japanese life gradually led me towards tea, matcha, and the world surrounding them.
